Erotic Ladyland

Uwe Ommer, geb. 1943 in Bergisch Gladbach/ Deutschland, gewinnt 1962 den deutschen Jugendfotopreis. Er lebt seit 1962 in Paris, assistiert dort für zwei Jahre dem renommierten Fotografen Jean Pierre Ronzel. Ommer gilt seit den 70er Jahren als einer der gefragtesten Werbefotografen. Über 15 Jahre fotografiert er für Charles Jourdan (die wohl teuersten Schuhe i.d. 70er/80er Jahren).§Veröffentlichungen seiner ästhetischen Nacktaufnahmen u.a. in Lui, Esquire, Zoom und Photographie. Besonders populär wurde Ommers exotische Erotik-Fotografie durch zahlreiche Bücher wie Black Ladies, Exotic, Asian Ladies, Do it Yourself oder den Pirelli Kalender. In dem Band 1000 Families lichtet Ommer Familien aus aller Welt vor neutralem weißen Hintergrund ab. 2002 wurde Uwe Ommer von der Royal Photographic Society für sein Lebenswerk ausgezeichnet.§Der großformatige Bildband Erotic Ladyland präsentiert neben einigen bekannten Fotos zahlreiche bisher unveröffentlichte Arbeiten aus dem reichhaltigen Oeuvre dieses Meisters der erotischen Fotografie.§§Uwe Ommer was born in 1943 in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. He won the German youth prize for photography in 1962 and then moved to Paris in the same year where he still lives. Here he worked as assistant to Jean Pierre Ronzel, the famous photographer. Since the 1970s, Uwe Ommer has become one of the world's most sought-after commercial photographers, working for Charles Jourdan (who produced the most expensive shoes of the 70s and 80s). His aesthetic nudes have been published in "Lui", "Esquire", "Zoom" and "Photographie" magazines. Many books such as "Black Ladies", "Exotic", "Asian Ladies", "Do it Yourself" as well as the Pirelli Calendar have made his exotic, erotic photographs especially popular.§The volume called "1000 Families" contained photos by Ommer of families from all over the world, each taken in front of a neutral, white background. In 2002, Uwe Ommer received a lifetime achievement award from the Royal Photographic Society.§The large-format book entitled "Erotic Ladyland" presents not only some of his more famous photos, but also several previously unpublished works, all selected from the rich back catalogue of this master of erotic photography.
