Before the first lung opened, before the first voice spoke, before music moved through space or prayer rose toward the gods - the air was already there.
AEROS enters the consciousness of the world's atmosphere, the primordial air-god who predates breath itself and who has carried everything since: seeds and songs, last exhalations and oracles, the north wind's terrible cold and the west wind's complicated warmth. He is the medium of all music, the carrier of all communication, the shared substance of every breath ever drawn.
From the first geological sounds on Gaia's new surface to the Pythia breathing the vapors at Delphi, from Orpheus descending into the underworld with his music on the air to Zephyrus's jealousy and the discus that killed Hyacinthus - Aeros is always there, always carrying, always the invisible constant that makes every other thing possible.
He was present at every death. He received every last exhalation and dispersed it back into the common medium, back into the air that everyone had breathed and that everyone would breathe. He was in the storm and in the whisper. He was in the oracle's breath and the lover's sigh and the soldier's last word and the child's first cry.
