They came from different places and carried different stories. But each encountered Jesus-and none of them walked away unchanged.

ALONG THE WAY: Five Lives Changed by Jesus invites students to walk beside five unforgettable people in the Gospel of Mark: Levi, the woman who reached out to Jesus, Bartimaeus, Simon of Cyrene, and the man Jesus restored among the tombs.

Through their stories, students will discover five responses that belong to a life of discipleship:

FOLLOW - like Levi, who left his table when Jesus called.
TRUST - like the woman who reached through the crowd.
SEE - like Bartimaeus, who recognized Jesus and followed Him on the way.
SERVE - like Simon, whose ordinary journey was unexpectedly interrupted.
GO - like the restored man, whom Jesus sent home with a story to tell.

But this is more than a book about five people.

It is a book about Jesus.

Students will watch where Jesus goes, whom He notices, what He does, and how an encounter with Him can change the direction of a life.

Designed for personal study, Bible classes, youth groups, retreats, and discipleship settings, Along the Way combines Scripture, observation, reflection, discussion, personal application, and journaling to help students move beyond simply knowing these stories to considering how Jesus is shaping their own.

The five fellow travelers may have lived long ago, but their stories still speak to anyone learning to follow Jesus today.
