Collection bilingue publiée sous le patronage de l'Association Guillaume Budé. Dotée d'un comité international de parrainage composé des plus éminents savants dans le domaine de la Renaissance et de l'Humanisme, s'inscrivant dans l'actuel renouveau des études néolatines dans le monde, cette collection, déjà connue par plusieurs grands ouvrages de référence, se donne aujourd'hui un ambitieux programme de publication qui, à terme, devrait l'égaler aux deux collections, grecque et latine, des Universités de France. Il s'agit de rassembler en un vaste corpus les textes fondateurs qui, de Pétrarque à Vico, dans une Europe culturelle sans frontières ont, dans tous les domaines (poétique, rhétorique, historique, philosophique, scientifique), engagé ou jalonné les grands débats d'idées marquant le passage du monde antique et médiéval au monde moderne. Chaque volume comprendra le texte original édité à partir des manuscrits ou des éditions anciennes, une traduction française, un appareil de notes et une introduction historique et critique. This Collection, which is endowed with an international sponsorship committee composed of the most eminent scholars in the Renaissance and Humanism field, is in keeping with the world-wide revival of Neo-Latin studies. Already acknowledged in several major reference works, this Collection is subject to an ambitious publishing schedule that—eventually—should make it comparable in size to the two Greek and Latin "Universités de France" Collections. The goal of the Collection is to compile a vast corpus of texts written by the founders of the Western World who, from Petrarch to Vico—in a cultural Europe without borders, and in every field of endeavour (poetics, rhetoric, history, philosophy and science)—have fuelled the most critical ideological debates that marked the transition from the ancient and medieval worlds to the modern world. Each volume will consist of the original text edited on the basis of ancient manuscripts or prior editions, a French translation, a set of notes and an historical introduction and review.
