Before You Buy the House

Buying a house is one of the biggest financial decisions most people will ever make-and some of the most expensive mistakes are the ones buyers never knew to look for.

In Before You Buy the House, Jimmy Bitzas walks buyers through the home-buying process in plain English, from deciding whether you are ready to buy and setting a realistic budget to choosing an agent and lender, making an offer, understanding the contract, inspecting the property, negotiating after the inspection, dealing with insurance and appraisal issues, buying new construction, and getting to closing.

Drawing on years of real-world experience in real estate, mortgages, buying and selling property, and home inspections, Jimmy explains what warning signs matter, what questions buyers should ask, and when it is time to bring in the right professional.

The book is written for first-time buyers, repeat buyers, retirees, relocation buyers, and anyone who wants to understand the process before making one of life's largest purchases. Special sections address issues Florida buyers and people relocating to Florida should understand, while the core guidance applies to home buyers nationwide.

You do not need to know everything about houses. You need to know what to notice, what questions to ask, and who to rely on when something is outside your expertise.
