Planning your building site: The 100 sq ft measurement refers only to the enclosed coop, not the complete project. Allow space for the full foundation layout, roof overhangs, projecting nesting boxes, opening doors and maintenance access. The total area alone does not establish whether a particular plot will fit the design; compare the dimensioned layout with your available site and allow for any required setbacks.
