Dead Ground

The man sent to protect Nadia Parr works for the firm named in her dead source's evidence.

Nadia has spent months following a contractor whose records never quite match the people who disappear. Now her source is dead, strangers are watching her, and the stranger who helps her escape has already lied about his name.

Marcus Webb knows the Blackthorn identifier on Nadia's documents because he helped create it. Keeping her alive could expose the people using it. It could also destroy the firm that trusts him to find out how its records reached a journalist.

From crowded London streets to the exposed Thames estuary, they need each other's skills and distrust each other's loyalties. Every hard-won confidence brings them closer. Every withheld answer gives someone else room to move.

Nadia can accept protection. She cannot accept another person deciding what her trust permits. And Marcus is running out of ways to keep his promises separate.

Dead Ground is the second Blackthorn Security romantic suspense novel, with a complete central romance and an ongoing series conspiracy.
