Exanimate

After his murder, eighteen-year-old delinquent Enrique is given another chance at life-as long as he can bring himself to consume human flesh and blood.  

What he wants to write off as insanity spouted from a stranger in the woods soon becomes his reality. New appetites surface, appetites he can't hide from his friends and family.

      Enrique enters a world that has always hidden beside his old one, a world that hides monsters he never knew existed. He works under the tutelage of his maker, a body dealer and wannabe cowboy with a flashy smile. Together, they deliver meals to their kind-human body parts, frozen and shrink-wrapped into neat little packages-and work the more dangerous job of hunting their own who have gone feral. Despite living under the watchful eye of his elderly abuela, Enrique begins to settle in to his new life. Things only begin to go downhill when a murderer targeting his kind circles closer and closer to Windle. And then, after a disastrous night out, Enrique himself adds to the body count.

Friends and family test the limits of his new appetite, but he must learn to balance their survival with his own.
