If People Were Stars

"To witness the planets, a corner of my home galaxy, so palpably just within the reach of one's fingers... "

Soleil was the #1 student, the role-model student, and the perfect picture of modern academic success. But the pressure of everyday life eventually settled in, fracturing their soul. Now, conflicted between disappearing completely or just ending it all, Soleil reaches a breaking point.

But just as they reach the edge, a strange, ethereal boy named Hisashi offers a different kind of exit. Hisashi, wielding a magical staff and a calming presence, transports Soleil to a breathtaking realm beyond the Earth and Sky: The Magic Shop. Here, a "replacement" will take over the exhausting, chaotic daily life in the real world, allowing Soleil's soul to finally find rest.

In this newfound world of wonders, Soleil embarks on a journey of healing, drifting through floating spaces, and countless cosmic corners. Yet, the further they go, the more Soleil realises this magical escape isn't just about disappearing at all; it's about finding what it means to be human again. Amidst Hisashi's strange powers, cosmic surprises, and unexpected bonds, Soleil must choose: stay in a perfect, peaceful dream, or return to the messy, complicated reality of their own life.

A heartwarming story about burnout, mental health, and finding the magic in the everyday-from clinical psychologist Katia Nădășan.
