JOEL

A plague of locusts became a warning, and the warning became a promise Peter preached at Pentecost. Wave after wave of locusts stripped Judah bare. Drought and fire followed, and the offerings at the temple stopped because nothing was left to offer. Joel told the people to pass the story down to their grandchildren, then used it to show them what the day of the LORD would be like. He called them to "rend your heart, and not your garments," and God answered with a promise: "I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten." Then came a promise that reached far beyond Joel's own day: "I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh." In this volume of a twelve-part verse-by-verse journey through the Minor Prophets, you'll walk through the complete King James text of Joel alongside:
