Lord of Storms

He never wanted the crown. The dead are coming for it.

Varik Skyborn has no use for duty. Let his father plan the wars and his sister lead the soldiers. He would rather lose himself in a lover's bed than earn a place in their councils.

When the Shadow Empress unleashes an army of the Accursed, his own people become the monsters at his gates. Varik refuses to destroy them. Yet every life he spares leaves the living in danger.

His best hope is Lorna Blackburn-the Empress's sister, his intended bride, and a scholar who understands the forbidden magic ravaging his court. Reclaiming his home means trusting rival rulers, accepting an oath that can kill him, and placing Lorna in the path of the dead.

But Lorna will not be another piece moved across his war map. As reluctant trust turns to desire, she demands to stand beside him on her own terms.

Every promise binds him tighter. Every mercy puts someone else at risk. And the woman he wants to protect may be the one person he cannot afford to control.

Lord of Storms is Book Two of Tales of the Fae, an adult dark fantasy series set in The Ethereal Realms. Begin with The Shadow's Sister. Contains explicit intimacy, violence, and an unresolved romantic arc.
