This novel, together with its characters, is a fictional story about the era the author grew up in. The Escobar family has a hard time coping with many problems after they are deserted by their father. Myanna, a young girl, is burdened with prophetic dreams about the fate of people she loves. Uncle Earl's Okie accent, and his comical antics, provide the balance needed for the turmoil in the story. World war 11, the taboo about sex, and lyrics from songs of that era, will surely have a nostalgic effect on many people.
