A cold case binds an estranged couple together.

While trying to fix their marriage, private investigator Ming Wei and his real estate agent wife, Sabine, investigate the unsolved murder of Sabine's father.

Four years after their wedding, cracks appear in their marriage. Ming leaves for a multi-month project overseas, leaving his wife at home with two young kids and a business to run. To take her mind off their marital woes, Sabine helps her mother investigate her father's murder.

The undercover operation takes her through a shooting competition, which Sabine wins. Participants are invited to a mountain retreat where a banquet is to be held in their honor. Ever inching closer to danger, Sabine only has her sister, Helen, as backup.

In spite of their personal problems, Ming can't live with himself for "abandoning" his wife and kids. He hands over the project to someone else and flies home only to find his mother-in-law babysitting their kids and dog, while his wife has gone to do something dangerous.

Ming gets involved and goes undercover to provide support for Sabine. The trail leads Sabine to people in the past, including her ex-boyfriend. Ming worries she might rekindle that old relationship. Against this backdrop, can Ming remain objective?
