The book Reflections and Speeches is one of the basic sources of Tomas Bata´s philosophy. Tomas Bata never excelled in his desire to preserve his thoughts and write his memories. He lived mostly in the present and was constantly determined to face challenges on a daily basis. However, a typical characteristic of Tomas Bata was his ability to clearly describe the problem, name the situation and propose a solution. He was able to use these qualities well in short but always striking and encouraging speeches. This ability, backed up by his art to make perfect use of simple solutions and the so-called “common sense”, has led to many ingenious and timeless thoughts. The book presents a collection of speeches that Tomas Bata made to his colleagues, young men and women, organizations and the general public. The publication was created thanks to Antonin Cekota – a journalist and friend of Tomas Bata, who collected, arranged and put the reflections and speeches of his boss into a contemporary context. The book is the right choice for you, if you are interested in knowing the thinking of this world-class entrepreneur. It contains his most important reflections on business, politics, society, education, economy and the future. It is a piece of basic Bata literature and should be a part of every library.
