"Regina Hübner: Dear ..." documents the solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art Carinthia (12 March - 31 May 2026), which features a cross-section of Regina Hübner's works, including central pieces from her oeuvre that have been adapted specifically to the situation, as well as recent and most recent works that have never before been presented to the public. The book is supplemented by a detailed biography and by texts offering various approaches to the artist's work. Regina Hübner is an international video artist born in Villach. She received her education at Ortweinschule in Graz, then in Carrara and subsequently in Rome, at Accademia di Belle Arti, from which she graduated in 1990. Since that time, the artist has been based in Rome, working freelance in the areas of experimental photography, video, and performance. Many of her works have already been presented at major international festivals and important exhibition institutions, including ZKM in Karlsruhe, FRAC in Marseille, Mandel Center in Tel Aviv, and the National Gallery in Vilnius. In her work as an artist, Regina Hübner deals with the fundamental topics of being human, existence, and transience. She examines human beings both as individuals and as social beings. Hübner questions their position and meaning with regard to community and society, to nature and culture, exploring dimensions of togetherness, communication, dialogue, and relationships, and combining this with her subjective experiences as a woman, daughter and mother into works that become valid metaphors of fundamental life contexts.Using the language of video, the power of large-format, symbolic images, the artist creates installations, so-called 'ambientations', which, by combining art, architecture and atmosphere, turn into extraordinary spaces of insight. Contemplative works of impressive poetry and sensuality lead to awareness processes that incorporate the beholders' associations, emotions, and memories.
