Poor Pamela Morgan's in a real tough spot.
Growing up in a seasonal desert town like Quartzsite, AZ - proud to call itself "The Rock Capital of the World" - would be hard enough on a young girl with ordinary problems to deal with. Being the daughter of the town hooker, whose best customer is the abusive brother of the town sheriff is no kind of ordinary life.
Pam does have some support: a grade school friend that didn't last, the best gem salesman in town, a few friendly locals and a short encounter with a stranger passing through on an important mission. But what is Pam to do during when there's no one around to help? Who is going to save her as things get worse?
So much worse.
Pam realizes that she's going to have to save herself, and she will.. although in a most unusual, resourceful way.
It turns out that sometimes the answers are locked in our own mind, just waiting to be discovered.
