Doris Ekblad-Olson, known by her Chinese name Xu Deli, spent part of her early childhood in Inner Mongolia with her missionary parents during the 1930s. She has always believed in the profound impact of God's work in the hearts of children. Upon returning to the U.S. at age six, she made a quiet promise: "You don't know it now, Daddy, but some day I'm coming back to help you." This vision has guided her throughout her life. In 1953, she went to Hong Kong as a missionary, participating in church planting, youth evangelism, and seminary teaching until her retirement in 1997. Teachers, students, and alumni of the Hong Kong Evangelical Theological Seminary affectionately referred to her as "Wonder Woman," bearing witness to how the God she serves transforms ordinary lives into legends.
