Swords for Hire, Terms Apply

The Dragon's Tear ruby may be the stuff of myth. The creatures guarding it definitely aren't.

Book 1: Every treasure hunt sounds simple at the beginning.

Find the ruined castle. Locate the legendary ruby. Collect the money.

Rook should have known better.

The Dragon's Tear has been missing for generations, Dragonrest Castle is crawling with goblins, and the duke paying for the expedition seems oddly unconcerned about whether Rook and his crew make it back alive.

Unfortunately, Rook can't afford to walk away.

His creditors are closing in, his reputation is hanging by a thread, and this job may be his one chance to dig himself out of a very deep hole.

So into the ruins he goes-with Grukk, a sword-obsessed lizard man; Nib, a perpetually irritated goblin with terrible eyesight and an even worse attitude; Moss, an elf archer who rarely misses; and Tess, a student of ancient languages who may be the only one capable of deciphering the secrets Dragonrest has kept buried for centuries.

What begins as a desperate hunt for a ruby quickly becomes something far more dangerous.

Because the deeper they go, the clearer it becomes:

Someone has other plans in mind for Rook and friend.

And finding the Dragon's Tear may be the least of their problems.

Swords for Hire, Terms Apply is a Christian YA humorous fantasy adventure filled with ruined castles, monsters, mysteries, questionable decisions, and one very underqualified band of treasure hunters.
