The First Page of Forever

Some family legacies begin with a grand event. Theirs began with a comic book, six bottles of soda, and a shy glance across a ranch porch. Colorado, 1947. Eleven-year-old Maggie Collins pretends to read while watching Darrell Simons help unload supplies at her family's ranch. She is a well-loved only child with bright blue eyes and an independent spirit. He is a guarded green-eyed boy who has already endured more hardship than most adults. By the end of the summer, Darrell disappears from Maggie's life. Years pass before chance brings them together again, but neither is the same person who once stood on that porch. With war, distance, and an uncertain future between them, Maggie and Darrell must decide whether their unexpected connection is strong enough to become something lasting. Spanning decades, The First Page of Forever is a heartfelt family saga filled with quiet devotion, hard-earned laughter, painful choices, and the ordinary moments that shape generations. Inspired by family memories, this is a story about two people who begin with almost nothing-and create a legacy no hardship can erase.
