Five-year-old Timmy Calloway has been waiting for the Tideline to open again.

For three weeks, the sea has stayed ordinary. No glow. No pull. No way back into the Saltworld.

But speaking what was forgotten may awaken more than the island. Far out on the horizon, the Ironjaw pirates are watching, and their admiral, Craw, now knows Timmy's name.

As Timmy carries home a mysterious brass key and the sealed bottle still waits in his pocket, his mother begins to wonder whether his stories are stories at all.
