The Turkey Who Ran Away

What happens when a turkey hears the words "Time to get the turkey ready" on Thanksgiving morning?

Gobbles is the happiest turkey on Maple Hill Farm-until he becomes certain that he is about to become Thanksgiving dinner. In a burst of feathers, he races through the barnyard, hides among the pumpkins, borrows a scarecrow's shirt, and dashes through the open back door.

Inside the farmhouse, one cranberry sauce disaster leaves a trail for Mia and Ben to follow. The children are determined to rescue Gobbles, but when the farmer finally catches up, everyone discovers that one frightened turkey has made one very big Thanksgiving mistake.

Can Gobbles finally stop running-or will one familiar phrase send him flapping away again?

Filled with colorful autumn fun, farmyard chaos, gentle suspense, and family laughter, The Turkey Who Ran Away is a lively Thanksgiving read-aloud for young children and families.

A funny Thanksgiving story about misunderstandings, reassurance, and discovering that things are not always what they seem.
