Trumpets of Jubilee

"Trumpets of Jubilee" is a classic collection of spiritual songs and hymns compiled by James D. Vaughan, a foundational figure in the development of Southern gospel music. This work features a vibrant selection of melodies designed for congregational worship, community gatherings, and musical education. The collection reflects the deep religious fervor and musical heritage of the early 20th-century American South, showcasing the influential style that helped define gospel quartet singing and choral performance during the era.

Within its pages, singers and historians will find uplifting themes of faith, redemption, and the jubilee spirit, all presented in the accessible shape-note notation that allowed communities to master complex harmonies together. As an essential piece of American musical history, "Trumpets of Jubilee" remains a testament to the enduring power of vocal harmony and the communal joy of sacred song. This volume serves as both a practical resource for shape-note practitioners and a significant historical document of the American hymnody tradition.
