School violence has been a hot topic among the press, politicians, academics, and the general population for over 15 years. During that time there has been an eruption in research activity that focuses on correlates (e.g., bullying, antisocial behavior/psychopathy, gender, ethnicity, and parenting and family issues), interventions for victims and offenders (e.g., trauma-focused cognitive-behavior therapy), and prevention (e.g., averted school shootings, school captive-takings).
