Classic horror directed by Tobe Hooper and co-written and produced by Steven Spielberg. Things start going bump in the night in a suburban home, much to the consternation of its resident family. When five-year-old Carol Anne (Heather O'Rourke) starts talking to the TV and is subsequently sucked into a portal in the closet, her parents call in parapsychologist Martha Lesh (Beatrice Straight) to investigate. Realising there is a poltergeist at work, Dr Lesh sends for medium Tangina Barrons (Zelda Rubinstein) and they are able to rescue Carol Ann. However, the supernatural forces won't give up so easily.
