Galusha Anderson was a pastor in St. Louis during the Civil War, one of the few American cities where Union and Confederate supporters lived side by side, shopped in the same stores and worshiped in the same congregations. This is a story of the first pastor in that city to take a stand against slavery and for the Union, and the resulting crisis and challenge he faced. You'll discover an intimate view of an urban leader during the Civil War, his divided city and congregation, and how he found his way through! Galusha suffered painful personal losses and yet he came out as a strong voice of justice for all. Galusha tells his riveting story from start to finish, filled with conflict, joy, tears, laughter and struggle. Should a pastor keep the peace or stir the waters?!
