Hampshire Cricket On This Day revisits all the most magical and memorable moments from the county's distinguished cricketing past, mixing in a maelstrom of quirky anecdotes and legendary characters to produce an irresistibly dippable diary of Hampshire history - with an entry for every day of the year. Hampshire cricket has a rich heritage stretching from the rural game in the Hambledon epoch to the razzamatazz of Twenty20 cricket at the Rose Bowl. Captured here are all the key events in those 260 years, celebrating Championship titles, one-day and Twenty20 final successes, record partnerships, great bowling and batting performances, much loved grounds and landmark matches. Fully endorsed by the club, the book recalls great names such as Tennyson, Shackleton, Greenidge and Warne - and reveals which Hampshire cricketers became a cowboy and a monk; who served in the SAS; who scored a try for Scotland, and whose benefit match started at midnight!
