SECRETS LAY BURIED IN BONE AND SCRIPTURE

AND A DAUGHTER'S DUTY REMAINS

Aeyun of Krunan is gone. Seraeyu Thasian stands in his place. And the realm of Raenaru is a broken empire, guided by the trembling hand of a man Sakaeri thought she knew.

Once undyingly dedicated to the Praetor-in-Waiting, the woman who conquered her heart, Sakaeri instead finds herself thrown into the fire with her beloved's brother. Her mercenary's oath to the Sirin has died with their slaughter, and now Sakaeri navigates a world of political intrigue and ancient power.

Contending with Orinian knights and Sentinels who hold themselves steadfast to Seraeyu's decree, Sakaeri begins to pull apart the clergy's connection to the increasingly nebulous Sirin and the sages' influence against the Thasian Legacy.

Interealmal war looms, and pirated waters are rife with tales of prophecy passed from one generation to the next. In the wake of revelation, how many half-truths does it take to form a whole?

Sakaeri has made many a solemn promise. With her mercenary order compromised, one question remains: to whom will she pledge her blade; for salvation or damnation?

This genre-bending second instalment of The Symphonic Masquerade series from author Emery Blaine continues a sweeping series full of mysteries and twists.
